How come you don't say nigga?

ight so first up i’m gonna hope you’re black and didn’t just come use that word to make some kinda point with me without that.

second up,  i wanna be clear that if you black and u say the word,  that cool.  if you black and you don’t say it,  that cool.  if you black and you say it in songs and never any other time,  that cool.  if you ain’t black and you say it,  you’re racist and a dick.

third up,  i have a right to choose not to say it.  my mammy and papi ain’t like that word.  they didn’t want us saying it.  they didn’t have a good relationship with that word.   for my mammy and papi,  it wasn’t a word to be reclaimed,  but a word of keeping them down.  that’s cool.  that they believe.  but i never grew up using the word, i never really heard the word around me in a positive way until i packed up and went to uni at 18.  until that age,  all my relationship with that word was negative.

now lemme be straight,  when said by a black person towards me,  i like the word.  i hold no issue with other black people using it towards me,  about me,  referencing me or whatever.  but to my voice,  to my words,  it doesn’t feel right.   it ain’t a part of my vocab,  not naturally,  and that’s okay.  i get that right,  just as other black people get the right to use it.

so yeah,  black people can say it or not say it as they wish.  that’s our right.  respect my choice not to say it.
